Introduction to Neurosensory Tools

This document provides a comprehensive overview of the functionalities offered by OpenMusicAcademy, designed to support professionals in the evaluation, diagnosis, and intervention of neurosensory profiles. Each tool is explained step-by-step to facilitate its effective use.

1. Sensory Checklists
The first step is to generate a sensory checklist to identify an individual's sensory patterns. The platform offers three methods:

1.1. AI-Powered Checklist

This tool generates a personalized list of auditory stimuli based on a natural language description.

  • Go to 'Sensory Checklists' and select 'AI-Powered Checklist'.
  • In the text box, describe the person's sensory preferences (e.g., 'enjoys low, rhythmic sounds but dislikes sharp, high-pitched noises').
  • Click 'Generate Checklist'. The AI will create three lists: Pleasant, Neutral, and Unpleasant, with sounds to be rated.

1.2. Category & Age Checklist

This option creates a checklist based on common sounds in a specific environment, tailored for an age group.

  • Go to 'Sensory Checklists' and select 'Category & Age Checklist'.
  • Choose an environment category (e.g., School, Mall) and an age group (e.g., Child, Adolescent).
  • Click 'Generate Checklist' to get a list of relevant environmental stimuli.

1.3. Diagnosis-Based Checklist

This tool generates a checklist with stimuli commonly associated with the sensory patterns of a specific diagnosis.

  • Go to 'Sensory Checklists' and select 'Diagnosis-Based Checklist'.
  • Choose a diagnosis (e.g., Autism, ADHD) from the list.
  • Click 'Generate Checklist' to create a list focused on relevant sensory sensitivities.
2. Rating and Evaluation
Once a checklist is generated, the next step is to rate the stimuli and obtain a professional analysis.
  • Listen to each sound in the generated lists.
  • Rate each stimulus with a 'thumbs up' (pleasant) or 'thumbs down' (unpleasant). You can leave some unrated.
  • After rating at least five stimuli, the 'Generate Evaluation' button will be enabled.
  • Click the button to receive an AI-powered analysis that includes: a Sensory Sensitivity Score, an Executive Summary, a Potential Sensory Profile (Pre-Diagnosis), a Sensory Diet, and an Action Plan for Professionals.
  • If you are logged in, you can save the checklist and its analysis to your profile for future reference and progress tracking.
3. Professional Analysis Tools
These tools are designed for in-depth professional use, generating structured reports from qualitative information.

3.1. Evaluation & Diagnosis

This tool generates a full neurosensory report from detailed written observations.

  • Go to the 'Evaluation & Diagnosis' tool.
  • In the text field, describe in detail the person's sensory behaviors, reactions, calming factors, and challenges.
  • Click 'Generate Evaluation'. The AI will provide a complete report, similar in structure to the checklist analysis but based on your qualitative observations.

3.2. Intervention Plan Generator

This tool creates a formal, structured intervention plan based on a profile and specific goals.

  • Go to the 'Intervention Plan Generator' tool.
  • Describe the individual's profile (age, diagnosis, strengths, challenges).
  • List the primary goals for the intervention (e.g., 'Improve focus in class').
  • Click 'Generate Plan' to receive a document with a title, short and long-term goals, detailed strategies, and a progress monitoring plan.

3.3. Treatment Recommendations

This tool offers specific, targeted strategies for a particular situation or challenge.

  • Go to the 'Treatment Recommendations' tool.
  • Describe the context and the challenge (e.g., '8-year-old with auditory sensitivity struggles in the school cafeteria').
  • Click 'Get Recommendations' to receive a list of practical suggestions, categorized and explained, along with a professional disclaimer.
4. Stimuli Library & Strategies
A resource hub to explore sounds and learn coping mechanisms.
  • Navigate to the 'Stimuli Library & Strategies' section.
  • In the 'Stimuli Library' tab, you can explore a collection of sounds categorized by type (Nature, Household, etc.).
  • In the 'Coping Strategies' tab, you can find an expanding list of evidence-based techniques to manage sensory sensitivities, with explanations for each.
